This book had the potential to be a truly excellent read, and it was great for the first 350 pages or so. Then it went downhill; the rest of the book rapidly tied up all the plot threads and it ends very abruptly. Really bummed about the ending.
Three things required for true enjoyment of this book... An obsession with Jane Austen, a love of zombies, and a great sense of humor. If you have those necessities then you will crack up full stop through out this book! Author Seth Grahame-Smith does a wonderful job of staying true to the essence of Jane Austen's characters while incorporating today's fixation with the shambling undead. A delightful read all around.
I love Jane Eyre and this adaptation of it just made me love it even more. As a matter of fact I think I love this version better! I think I may have to go back and re-read it soon. It helped me through it stressful time in my life, it was very much a balm to my soul.
